Coaching with applied neuroscience is a process that works at the grass roots of your natural way learning and processing the world around you.
It supports your brain and nervous system to develop stronger and more efficient connections, which result in increased emotional control and balance. This results in an appropriate use of your ability to think, feel and react to threats to survive.
Coaching with Applied Neuroscience builds this robust resilience, adaptability, and emotional appropriateness. It enables you to develop the intelligences needed to overcome your obstacles and achieve your goals.
This means in practice that you can think clearly, rationally and with focus when appropriate and not be overcome with emotion. You can feel authentically and not be overcome with either thought to repress emotion or reflex emotional reactions. People describe it as the ability to find the right answers for themselves.
When it comes to learning vital skills as human beings, emotional control is considered one of the most
What does this mean in day-to-day life?
Emotional Control means that we are not dominated by emotional reactions such as anger, fear, or shutdown. It means that we feel the right emotions in situations. This means that we are sad when we experience a loss, we feel angry when we need to defend ourselves, or sorry when we have caused upset.
In fact, a sign of emotional maturity is a persons’ ability to feel emotions appropriately while adapting to lifes' circumstances, this is especially true when we have no control over events in life E.g. Global pandemics, economic downturns and violent world events.
Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognise and manage your emotions and understand emotion in others. Having a good EQ helps you to build relationships, reduce stress in yourself and others, defuse conflict and improve satisfaction in many areas of your life.
Emotional Intelligence means that you have self awareness, self management, social awareness, and relationship management — each can help a leader face any crisis with lower levels of stress, less emotional reactivity and fewer unintended consequences.
Resilience is our ability to bounce back quickly and continue to achieve our goals. It means that we are not overcome with, or controlled by our negative emotional states such as anxiety, depression, anger or worries.
It is the positive staying power to stay on track in the face of obstacles. We can feel and react but, we right ourselves in a balanced way and continue forward. This means for example that even after the breakup of a valued relationship, the loss of a job or asset, we can still feel and process these events deeply appropriately AND move forward in life.
